At Crow’s Hall we are pleased to stage a very small number of our own events each year, working with a wide range of hand-picked partners – both local and international.
From hosting opera evenings to welcoming the pupils of the nearby high school for their drama productions, or private views of art in the garden to the village country fair or ‘fête’, our events are predominantly charity-focused, in support of the local community or special interest groups.
London Festival Opera at Crow’s Hall Barn
Our huge Tudor Barn with its fine exposed timber roof and impressive acoustics are a stunning location for our all too brief encounters with the London Festival Opera.
So far, this remote Suffolk country setting has been graced with emotional rollercoasters such as Verdi’s ‘La Traviata’. Puccini’s Tosca and Mozart’s ‘Magic Flute’. A truly sociable occasion which benefits a first-class charitable cause. Suffolk’s Glyndebourne? Watch this space. Find out more »
Foot tapping stuff :
Jazz at Crow’s Hall Barn
Jazz in the barn has become a firm annual favourite. The charity event concentrates on filling the barn to the rafters with the sounds of traditional New Orleans jazz. Keep an eye out for our social media and blog posts for more information and reviews.
Celebrating young local actors :
School productions in Crow’s Hall Barn
It is a pleasure to give students from Debenham High School the opportunity to share their dramatic performances with an audience in a spectacularly different setting to their school hall! Many of the young performers who have trodden the boards over recent years here are surprised to discover such wonderful buildings right on their Debenham doorstep. They have often described the place as “awesome”, but their audiences have come to the same conclusion about their performances of ‘The Tempest’ and their commemorative WWI-based drama.
Equestrian masterclasses :
Horse play at Crow’s Hall
A keen horsewoman who is highly accomplished in dressage, Crow’s Hall owner, Caroline Spurrier, also enjoys sharing the expertise of internationally acclaimed equestrian trainers with fellow fanatics.
The special invitation-only equestrian workshops are held in the horses’ ‘playground’ at Crow’s Hall Debenham.
Crow’s Hall Historic House Tours
Crow’s Hall is delighted to support the Historic Houses Invitation to View visits programme, which allows us to share the Hall, its stories and some delicious tea and cake (!) with visitors from East Anglia and often much further afield, through a handful of owner-led house tours on specific published dates. We are also able to welcome house tours to groups through the Historic Houses tours scheme.
