FAQs – Garden Parties with Glamping at Crow’s Hall

Hiring Crow’s Hall for your garden party get-together can be quite something to get your head around, because our ‘dry hire’ (venue only hire) approach is far from the conventional approach at a stately home site.

Our exclusive hire period makes the experience very much like borrowing a good friend’s stately home. It is a huge opportunity, and the privacy of the setting is treasured by all those who choose to enjoy it.

We appreciate that there will be questions – and we’ll always do our very best to answer them and assist you in finding the perfect solution. As an initial help, here are just a few popular questions and their answers.

Please, if you can’t discover what you’d like to know here, do just email or give us a call.

What is included in the venue hire fee?

Crow’s Hall operates on a ‘dry hire’ (venue only hire) basis. For up to a 4 day period, the following are exclusively yours:

  • Island gardens, terraces and amphitheatre
  • Glamping, marquee and camping areas
  • Grounds including areas for garden games
  • Top floor apartment inside Crow’s Hall (with own, separate access) for a self-catered stay of  2 nights (Friday & Saturday only) – sleeps up to 4 guests (ie. 2 double bedrooms with shared bathroom & kitchenette)
  • Provision of a luxury toilet block for use during the garden party

This is a rare opportunity when it comes to historic properties and one which allows ultimate flexibility. At Crow’s Hall, unlike so many other places offering their site as a garden party, celebration and glamping venue, you can truly make the beautiful Crow’s Hall site your very own.

Marquees may be erected in the paddocks area adjacent to the farm barns, and /or within the glamping paddocks as appropriate .

Gazebos may be located within the island gardens.

We are delighted to discuss the possibilities based on your requirements.

Do we have exclusive use?

Absolutely. Our ‘garden party & glamping getaway packages’ include exclusive use of the venue with plenty of time to set scene to suit your gathering (including putting up marquees etc.).

We only ever host a small number of garden party gatherings or weddings over the summer each year and rarely more than two in each month. Any hire of the venue dovetails in such a way that there is never any overlap. The only other people on site will be those of us who live here and our small team (for the venue, our horses and the farm).

Our venue hire period for garden party getaways is:
Typically hire periods run from a Thursday evening to the following Monday morning to allow for set up / take down of all glamping / marquee facilities – to allow for guests overnighting (Thursday) / Friday / Saturday / (Sunday).

The hire fee is a one-off fee – there will be no additional commissions or corkage charges levied by Crow’s Hall. The hire period allows you to set-up, take-down and really personalize things without feeling rushed, experiencing a truly personal and unique service.

Staying on site also gives you the possibility of enjoying smaller-scale gatherings and celebrations around your main event (eg. a drinks party, family dinner, BBQ), perhaps with guest accommodation through our additional glamping packages.

Price is on application.

Do you have a Wedding Co-ordinator or an Event Manager for the day?

We highly recommend the services of our in-house event manager. We offer a personalized service for your special occasion without you incurring any commission charges.

Caroline Spurrier is a highly experienced events coordinator as well as the owner of Crow’s Hall. She loves sharing her country home for happy occasions and is discretely on hand just as much as required to ensure that everything goes smoothly in your preparations, on the day and when everything is eventually being cleared away.

From suppliers and caterers to how your horse or hound can be appropriately accommodated to join you at the festivities, Caroline is not just a fantastic fount of knowledge, but a hugely helpful and much appreciated pair of hands.

What time of year can we have our garden party getaway at Crow’s Hall?

We only ever share the venue over the summer each year from April to September inclusive. Crow’s Hall is a working farm and we have significant commitments on the estate all year round.

Is the property really as private as it says it is?

Do come and see for yourself. Crow’s Hall sits on the Deben Valley ridge surrounded by its grounds and rolling fields. It is at the end of a very long, no-through lane. The only other properties for miles are a handful of estate cottages.

Can we fly in?

We are pleased to offer helicopter landing facilities at Crow’s Hall (subject to permit).

Checking availability, finding out more or making an appointment to view Crow’s Hall grounds and gardens is only a call or email away. We look forward to hearing from you.
