FOR A FEW UNHURRIED DAYS…
Crow’s Hall is like borrowing your best friend’s stately home for one of the most memorable occasions of your life.
Shared for only a small number of weddings each year, every celebration has the time, privacy and freedom to become entirely its own.
THE PLACE
A place with its own rhythm.
Set within a 400-acre private estate in High Suffolk, around two hours from London, Crow’s Hall feels wonderfully removed without being remote.
At its heart is a Grade II* listed Hall, largely dating from the 16th century, held within a wide, water-filled moat. Cross the bridge and the everyday world begins to fall away: old brick, water, gardens, timber, open fields and long Suffolk views.
Crow’s Hall has been known by name since the 14th century. Since arriving in 2005, Caroline Spurrier has carefully restored the house, gardens and estate, bringing the place back to life without losing the marks of its long history.
Today, it remains first and foremost a private home: personal, generous and deeply rooted in its landscape.
WEDDINGS AT CROW’S HALL
Weddings that take their time.
With venue access available for up to seven days, a wedding at Crow’s Hall does not need to be compressed into a single day.
There is time to arrive properly, settle into the house, gather the people closest to you and allow the celebration to move naturally through the Hall, island gardens, Long Barn and wider estate.
Some weddings remain intimate and close to the house. Others gather pace in the Long Barn or unfold across the estate, with marquees, glamping and guests waking nearby the following morning.
There is no single route through Crow’s Hall. The pleasure lies in finding the one that feels entirely your own.
EXPLORE THE ESTATE
One house.
A world of its own.
Crow’s Hall is not a single venue space, but a collection of places that work together. The Hall, island gardens, Tudor Long Barn and open estate each have their own character, allowing a wedding, gathering or private stay to move naturally from one setting to the next.
A day might begin inside the house, pass through the garden rooms, gather beside the moat and continue into the barn. Larger celebrations can extend further into the landscape with marquees, tipis and glamping.
Explore each part below, or take the aerial tour to see how the buildings, gardens and wider Suffolk estate connect.
The Hall
First recorded by name in 1331, Crow’s Hall is a Grade II* listed, largely 16th-century moated manor house, approached across its brick bridge. Still Caroline’s private Suffolk home, it brings historic rooms and deeply personal character to weddings, gatherings and private stays.
The Island Gardens
Designed by Xa Tollemache during Caroline’s restoration of the estate, the island gardens use old foundations and brickwork to create a series of secluded outdoor rooms. Held within the water-filled moat, they include lawns, richly planted borders, a knot garden, amphitheatre and pool garden.
The Long Barn
Suffolk’s longest and one of its most authentically preserved timber-framed Tudor barns, the Long Barn was once a 16th-century granary. Its remarkable scale, acoustics and flexible open interior make it an atmospheric setting for ceremonies, dining, music, dancing and the later hours.
Marquees & Glamping
Beyond the moat, the wider estate offers space for sailcloth marquees, tipis, big tops and glamping. Celebrations can spread into the Suffolk landscape, while guests stay close by – creating the atmosphere of a private country gathering or temporary village around Crow’s Hall.
This aerial tour travels across the wider estate, over the moat and through the Hall itself, revealing how the house, island gardens, Long Barn and surrounding landscape connect.
STAY AT CROW’S HALL
Crow’s Hall may also be taken as an exclusive-use Suffolk holiday let – a private country house for family gatherings, reunions and a few unhurried days away with friends.
Five individually furnished bedrooms, generous living rooms, a country kitchen and formal dining room make it somewhere to settle into rather than simply stay. Beyond the house are the island gardens, woodland walks, rowing boats, fishing, croquet and the wider estate to explore.
Guests travelling with horses can also enquire about the on-site stables, paddock, 20m × 60m arena, grass gallop and other equestrian facilities available by arrangement.
A house to have to yourselves.
Crow’s Hall is an absolutely beautiful corner
of the world and a very special place.”
Hannah & Alex
A house I love to share.
Crow’s Hall is my home, and it is always a pleasure to see it filled with people celebrating.
I have always felt that the best occasions are not rushed. They need time to settle, time to gather and time for people to feel at home.
My role is to help people understand what is possible here, introduce good people where helpful, and make sure the place feels ready for them when they arrive.
A visit is usually the best way to begin.
