Crow's Hall is a private moated Suffolk home, shared for only a small number of weddings each year.
The Hall, island gardens, Tudor Long Barn and wider estate can be used in different ways. Some weddings remain intimate and close to the house. Others gather pace in the barn or unfold across the estate, with marquees, glamping and guests waking nearby the following morning.
With venue access available for up to seven days, there is time to arrive properly, make the house familiar, prepare without hurry and allow the celebration to find its own rhythm.
No two weddings have ever been the same.
Nothing at Crow's Hall asks every wedding to follow the same route. The estate is a collection of places rather than a single fixed backdrop, giving each celebration room to reflect the couple, the guest list and the feeling of the day.
An intimate gathering might remain within the Hall and island gardens. A larger wedding can move from the gardens into the Long Barn. An estate-wide celebration may bring in a marquee, tipis or glamping and continue over several days.
Caroline and the team help couples understand what is possible, bring the practical pieces together and introduce trusted people where helpful.

Crow’s Hall does not impose a single version of a wedding.
Some celebrations stay close to the house and island gardens. Others gather pace in the Long Barn. Some spread into marquees and the wider estate, with guests staying nearby and the celebration continuing into the following morning.
The pleasure is in finding the shape that feels right for you.
Four places, each with its own character.
The Hall
First recorded by name in 1331, Crow’s Hall is a Grade II* listed, largely 16th-century moated manor house, approached across its brick bridge. Still Caroline’s private Suffolk home, it brings historic rooms and deeply personal character to weddings, gatherings and private stays.
The Island Gardens
Designed by Xa Tollemache during Caroline’s restoration of the estate, the island gardens use old foundations and brickwork to create a series of secluded outdoor rooms. Held within the water-filled moat, they include lawns, richly planted borders, a knot garden, amphitheatre and pool garden.
The Long Barn
Suffolk’s longest and one of its most authentically preserved timber-framed Tudor barns, the Long Barn was once a 16th-century granary. Its remarkable scale, acoustics and flexible open interior make it an atmospheric setting for ceremonies, dining, music, dancing and the later hours.
Marquees & Glamping
Beyond the moat, the wider estate offers space for sailcloth marquees, tipis, big tops and glamping. Celebrations can spread into the Suffolk landscape, while guests stay close by – creating the atmosphere of a private country gathering or temporary village around Crow’s Hall.

The great luxury is time
A wedding at Crow’s Hall does not need to begin and end in a single day.
There can be time to arrive properly, settle into the house, walk the gardens and gather the people closest to you. Time for the celebration to move naturally through the Hall, island gardens, Long Barn and estate.
Then there is the morning after: breakfast, stories, a walk around the gardens and no feeling that everything disappeared at midnight.
This is what we mean by weddings that take their time.
CEREMONIES & CELEBRATIONS
There is more than one way to make the ceremony part of a wedding at Crow’s Hall.
Some couples marry locally, including at nearby churches such as St Mary Magdalene in Debenham, before making the short journey back to Crow's Hall for drinks, photographs, dinner and the wider celebration.
Others choose a register office, a registered place of worship or a smaller legal ceremony elsewhere, then gather family and friends at the estate for vows, music, food and time together.
Crow's Hall is also progressing its own ceremony licensing. Caroline can share the latest position when you enquire.
Whatever route you choose, the ceremony and celebration can still feel connected: the journey back through the Suffolk lanes, the final half-mile beneath the old oaks, and the first glimpse of the Hall, moat and gardens as everyone arrives.

Four ways to shape your wedding
No two weddings at Crow’s Hall have ever been the same. These four starting points simply show some of the different ways the Hall, island gardens, Long Barn and wider estate can come together.
Wedding venue hire starts from £18,000 including VAT.
A PLACE TO BEGIN
These are starting points, not fixed packages.
Every wedding is shaped individually around the time, spaces and scale of celebration you have in mind. Each route offers exclusive use of the agreed parts of Crow’s Hall for its defined hire period.
Crow’s Hall is offered on a dry-hire basis. Catering, drinks, flowers, furniture, marquees, glamping structures, music, production and other supplier costs are arranged separately unless specifically agreed.

For smaller weddings centred around the Hall and island gardens.

Close, personal and beautifully contained, with guests gathered around the house and island gardens for a celebration that feels private, gentle and deeply personal.
BARN & GARDEN
CELEBRATIONS
Up to 220 guests
For larger wedding days centred around the island gardens and Long Barn.
The feeling
Generous and garden-led, with drinks, photographs and time outside before the celebration moves into the Long Barn for dinner, music and the later hours. A larger celebration, without the longer house-stay element of the Signature Celebration.

Caroline is the first point of contact, supported by a close and experienced team who know Crow’s Hall and understand how a celebration moves through the house, island gardens, Long Barn and wider estate.
Their role is to help establish the practical framework around the venue: agreeing the spaces and access, helping with timings, introducing the estate to the people working on site and liaising with your chosen suppliers where needed.
Crow’s Hall has welcomed weddings of different scales, cultures and traditions, from intimate gatherings to complex multi-day celebrations. That experience brings calm and continuity, while leaving every couple free to shape the wedding in their own way.
Dry hire, with guidance when you need it.
At Crow’s Hall, dry hire means freedom: the freedom to choose the food, flowers, music, furniture, lighting, tableware and details that feel right for the celebration you want to create.
Some couples arrive with a planner, caterer, florist or creative team already in mind. Others ask Caroline to introduce people who have worked at Crow’s Hall before and understand the estate. Both approaches can work beautifully.
New suppliers are welcome, subject to the usual introductions and practical checks. Crow’s Hall does not charge supplier commissions; recommendations are made because someone is trusted, capable and suited to the estate.

STAY CLOSE, STAY LONGER
Let the celebration become
more than a single day.
Depending on the wedding route, the Hall may be available for two, three or five nights, giving the couple and those closest to them a private base before and after the wedding itself.
For larger Estate Weddings, the glamping meadow may be available for up to four nights. Bell tents, lighting and additional facilities can turn the estate into a temporary village, with guests waking nearby and gathering again the next morning.
Previous weddings have hosted 120 guests in 60 bell tents. Every layout is different, so larger or alternative arrangements are discussed with Caroline and the relevant suppliers.

For wedding enquiries, we will send the brochure once we know a little about your preferred date, likely guest numbers and the kind of celebration you are beginning to imagine.
You do not need to have everything worked out. It helps simply to know roughly when you are thinking, how many people might be joining you and what has caught your attention about the estate.
A private viewing is usually the best way to understand how Crow’s Hall might work for your wedding: crossing the moat, walking the gardens, standing in the Long Barn and beginning to imagine how your own celebration might move through the place.
